1-2-3-4-5 is a system for screenshooting websites
The core screenshooting software and all development happens on my domestic desktop computer, which is more than 10 years old, running Windows 10, without a graphics card - this project tries to use as little energy as possible.
This whole core system is home-brew.
The screenshooting process happens inside a Virtual Box running Windows 7, so it's isolated from what else is being done on my computer. It operates automatically 24*7 - loading > 3000 websites per day - saving the screen - checking that it's loaded right or if it looks like an error page - checking if it's different from the last time - FTP to the server.
The other process, running in an Apache Stack, visits all sites that have been screenshot and reads their meta data and social links and update status.
The human part of the process is that I regularly proof view all the recently shot images.
Because URLs change and they have to be adjusted by hand.
Sites load at different times - some have popups or cookie confirmation that obscure great pages.
Some sites don't load completely and need a 2nd or more tries to get good pictures.
The AI is quite effective at controlling the process automatically, but at the moment it's still learning ....
